Things to Do in Dartmouth

Alderney Landing Market -The Alderney Landing Market is located right next to the Halifax ferry terminal. This market has a great collection of baked goods, local meat and vegetables, and an assortment of handmade goodies.

Alderney Ferry – The Alderney Ferry is the oldest continuously operating salt-water passenger ferry system in North America. The 15-minute ride across the ocean from Dartmouth is worth seeing (and of course you could spend some time in Halifax).

Dartmouth Castle – For over 600 years Dartmouth Castle has guarded the narrow entrance of the Port of Dartmouth. Visit the tea room for a light lunch and wander the coast and woodland trails and make a day visit to the castle.

The Dartmouth Museum – The Dartmouth Museum is located in the Butterwalk building. The museum has an extensive collection of artifacts, paintings, and photos recounting the history of Dartmouth and maritime history.
