Ziplining at Marble Mountain Resort

Ever wanted to fly across the treetops? Now you can at Marble Mountain Resort. Ski hill turns to a zip line park in the summertime and they take pride in 2000 feet of zip lines. You can reach speeds up to 30 km/h while dangling 285 feet high. This one is for the adrenaline junkies.

The Rooms

This art gallery/museum has plenty to indulge your interest and keep you entertained for hours. They consistently have exhibits all about Newfoundland and Labrador including topics from different cultures the province has seen to ‘The World’s Oldest Muscular Animal’. Johnson Geo Centre

is located on Signal Hill, although most of it is underground. The museum goes into detail about the geological features underneath the surface of Signal Hill, where there is exposed bedrock formations and geothermal wells.

Bannerman Park

In the colder months visit this park to skate around the community loved loop known simply as ‘The Loop’, it doubles as a rollerblading path from May-September.

Suncor Energy Fluvarium

Enjoy a nice boardwalk stroll or look through underwater windows and watch fish in their natural habitat. The Fluvarium was erected to raise environmental awareness for water and its inhabitants. Also featured here are freshwater species native to Newfoundland and Labrador.

Quidi Vidi

The small picturesque fishing village is minutes from downtown St John’s and is famous for colourful houses nestled along the coast. While you’re here check out the Lake Trail, Brewery (try the iceberg beer!), and The Battery.

Nature in Newfoundland & Labrador

  • Gros Morne National Park – you absolutely must not miss this Park if you are in the area. Stunning scenery that offers breathtaking hikes in Canada’s portion of the Appalachian Mountains makes this Park a UNESCO world heritage site. Spend a few nights parked in the campground here and explore everything the area has to offer.
  • Signal Hill overlooks the harbour of St. Johns, Cabot Tower sits atop this hill.
  • The East Coast Trail is a 540-kilometre trail that follows the Newfoundland coast.
  • Cape Spear, home to the oldest lighthouse in the province, is on the easternmost tip of Canada.
  • Bowring Park is a beautiful park in the city of St. Johns, one thing not to miss here is the Peter Pan statue.
  • Newfoundland Insectarium combine nature and museum browsing and check out the world-class museum that offers exhibits with preserved and live butterflies, insects and anthropoids! Don’t miss the nature walk or the butterfly house!
  • Butter Pot Provincial Park is a nature haven where you can bike, hike, camp, fish and picnic to your heart’s content.
