Liard River Hot Spring Provincial Park

If you’re visiting Northern BC, Liard River Hot Springs Provincial Park is a must-see destination, home to the second-largest hot spring in all of Canada! Take a dip and submerge yourself in the soothing warm waters surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife and you’ll never want to leave. Watch closely as you’re soaking up natural minerals and you might just see a moose feeding in near-by swampy waters. The area encircles a boreal forest supporting over 100 bird species and close to 30 mammals. This forest emulates an almost tropical feel, providing views of gorgeous diverse plant communities encompassing 250 plant species. The striking vegetation and wildlife creatures make for a very memorable experience during any time of year. Klahanie Campground

For breathtaking views, be sure to check out Klahanie Campground in the charming city of Squamish BC. If you’re seeking a unique getaway, this is the spot for you. Tucked away at the midpoint of Vancouver and Whistler you’ll find this hidden campground across from Shannon Falls. 

Nearby, you’ll find the Sea-To-Sky Gondola, take this thrilling ride to the top of the summit where further adventure is waiting for you. After you capture those insta-worthy shots, you can check out the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge and see the magical surrounding forest and mountain views. Alternatively, take one of the numerous hiking trails or rock climbing routes and settle into the great outdoors atop this beautiful summit. If you’re into backcountry adventures, bring your snow gear and continue exploring!

There are many biking and hiking trails throughout this campground as well as watersports, such as kiteboarding, boating, kayaking or fishing for alternative ways to spend your time here. If you have the time, do all of the above! Kilby Park Campground

Immerse yourself in the history of BC at Kilby Park Campground in Harrison Mills. Kilby Park is an ideal location to learn about the history of this beautiful province. Take a step backwards in time at the secluded riverfront campground with your choice of beachfront campsites or a serene escape within the trees. Within walking distance, you can experience BC livelihood at the turn of the twentieth century at the 1906 General Store Museum, browsing unique artifacts. Then, delve deeper and check out the 1920’s style post office, general store, and boarding house to better understand life in Harrison Mills during that era.

Other activities in the area include strolling through gardens and nature trails, relaxing on the sandy beaches, fishing, or grabbing a beverage at the local cafe. Kilby Park is also a great location to see wildlife, especially if you’re an avid bird watcher. Hundreds of bald eagles swarm to this location to feed on the spawning salmon in the Harrison and Fraser rivers each year while glorious trumpeter swans migrate all the way from Alaska! 

Alpine Meadow Resort

In the beautiful city of Clearwater at Alpine Meadows Resort, you’re surrounded by the breathtaking wonders of Wells Grey National Park. If you’re someone who adores chasing waterfalls, you’re in luck, even in the winter! The land of 14 waterfalls doesn’t take a season off, and you shouldn’t have to either. In the wintertime, access this self-guided winter waterfall tour by snowshoe (or hiking boot) and enjoy the scenery. Bear Creek Provincial Park

Situated in the stunning Central Okanagan Valley is Bear Creek Provincial Park. This is an ideal camping location for families on the West side of Okanagan Lake. For the water lovers, there are available water equipment rentals such as kayaks, canoes, boats, jet skis, and water skis to explore the great Okanagan Lake (beware the Ogopogo)!

Bear Creek also has many well-marked hiking trails to traverse which are well worth the stop. The Canyon trail is rated most popular, featuring a footbridge, a staircase, sloped canyon walls, waterfalls, and a creek. If you’re into bouldering and rock climbing, the Okanagan is a fantastic area to explore. You’ll find many locations perfect for climbing, whether you’re a beginner or an advanced climber. Check out local guide books to find exact routes and enjoy an entire day of bouldering in the Okanagan Valley. 

This area also has a huge selection of wineries scattered throughout the valley. If you managed to leave the kids at home, spend a day wine tasting, and appreciate all that the Okanagan has to offer. 

Alder Bay RV Park & Marina

Alder Bay Resort is a hidden gem located in Port McNeill on Northern Vancouver Island. A relaxing waterfront camping experience offering a huge list of activities that will be sure to keep you entertained during your stay. Choose from a selection of water, land, cultural, or wildlife activities. One of North Vancouver Island’s popular wildlife activities is whale watching. The area is home to many water mammals such as killer whales, humpback whales. Also, white-sided dolphins, seals, sea lions, minke whales, and so many more animals can be seen. For a guided tour, the crew of operators ensures a safe, sustainable whale watching experience showcasing incredible water wildlife. 

The area also holds one of Canada’s finest First Nations museums. The museum has a beautiful collection of potlatch regalia and is dedicated to preserving the heritage of the Kwakwaka’wakw.
